Luc Génier named president of Gaz Métro Plus Montreal,
Tuesday, September 18, 2007
– Sophie Brochu, President and Chief Executive Officer of Gaz
Métro, is pleased to announce the appointment of Luc Génier to the position of
President and Chief Executive Officer of Gaz Métro Plus. Luc will have
responsibility for managing the Gaz Métro Plus, Servitech
and Consulgaz subsidiaries, and Gaz Métro Plus’s interest in Hydro-Solution and
CCUM.
Luc has solid experience in the energy sector. He
started his career in 1985 with Shell Canada Products Ltd, where he served in
increasingly senior positions. After joining Gaz Métro in 1994, he was in turn
Regional Director, Commercial Sales; Head of Marketing; Residential Market
Project Leader; Director of Residential Sales; Director of Sales and Partnership
Development for Quebec; and Vice-President, Sales and Customer Services. As
Vice-President, Customers since February 2007, he was responsible for all
activities with respect to clientele maintenance, sales development, customer
service and clientele acquisition-related construction. In addition to these
responsibilities with Gaz Métro, Luc has sat, among other things, on the boards
of directors of the Association québécoise du gaz naturel and the Centre for
Expertise and Research on Infrastructure in Urban Areas (CERIU), and on
committees of the Canadian Natural Gas Association.
His leadership combined with the Gaz Métro Plus
team’s knowhow will enable the firm to continue its development and play even
more effectively its role as a leader in the energy services field in
Quebec. He will be assuming his duties on Monday, October 15,
2007.
